Personal Protection
There are are two distinct levels of protection, Anti-Stab and
Ballistic. Wesminster can offer armour to stop these threats either
independently or combined. Within the UK the main levels of protection
are set by the Police Scientific and Development Branch (PSDB) a
division of the UK Home Office.
Anti-Stab protection levels
The PSDB Anti-Stab Standard requires an armour to be tested with two different styles of blade to the necessar y energy levels. An armour is allowed 7mm of penetration, but no more. The armour is also subject to an over energy strike of +50%, here a maximum of 20mm penetration is allowed.

PSDB Standard allows a maximum trauma of 25mm, whereas American NIJ Standard
allows a maximum trauma of 44mm.
