SARS Protection Hood

The SARS Protection Hood is designed to provide environmental protection from patients suspected of carrying the SARS virus.

It is assumed that the SARS infection is transmitted mainly by secretions from the respiratory tract.

The secretions are transferred either by direct contact or by droplets over a short distance, e.g. by sneezing or coughing.

Unlike chemical escape hoods that filters the air allowed into the hood, the SARS protection hood is designed to filter the exhaust air from the suspect patient thus capturing and containing the SARS virus that provides protection from those in close proximity. Ideal for use at general practices, airports, ferry passenger terminals, aeroplanes, and trains.

The SARS Protection Hood is supplied in a small compact carry case that is easily carried on the person or stowed in a vehicle or work place.

It is supplied in one size that fits all, it covers the complete head and can be worn over spectacles or facial hair.
