Double Vision Pro Mobile CCTV
The Double Vision Pro is a mobile video and audio solution with a
digital hard drive and is specifically designed to work with a number
of accessories to allow for flexible mobile surveillance in the field.
Being hard drive based, recording durations are greatly increased.
The DV Pro is a more robust unit for arduous operations, such as policing.
The DV Pro standard kit comprises of the camera head unit and
headband, a 30 GB DVR hard drive and a switch able lead set, together
with a battery pack and charger. A utility vest is also supplied.
This unit uses the new-to-market Digital Video Recorder which allows
video data to be digitised and recorded to a 2.5" Hard drive.
Downloaded video images can either be copied direct from the unit
in real-time or alternatively, the hard drive can be removed and placed
in a PC which has a download receptor and then copied at high speed.
The DVR is smaller than tape-based units and has a separate lithium
ion power source.
The DV Pro is designed so that it can also be worn in an Arktis
utility vest, as used by the UK police.
The unit is remotely controlled, i.e. recording can be switched
off when it is not needed.
Components
Camera Head - Patent Pending
DV Pro uses a colour camera with vertical adjustment and supporting white LED (switch able) adjacent to the camera. The audio microphone pick-up has mechanical noise cancellation for high quality capture. The "Otto" audio output earpiece allows connection to a "two way" radio set. The unit has a "dovetail" type slide and lock interface to allow connection to other mobile solutions. A single switch on the headset switches video and the LED on and off. Audio is available at all times.
Digital Video Recorder
The digital video recorder (DVR) used for the DV Pro system is the world's first hand-held video recorder and contains the most sophisticated and advanced digital technology currently available. It is designed for demanding professions and fits into a unit not much larger than a mobile phone weighing just 380g. The removable hard disk can be removed and inserted into the relevant optional PC drive supplied with the DVR.
Webbing Vest
The webbing vest is worn when operating the DV Pro. The vest is an adaptation of a standard issue utility vest. It has an extra pocket on the vest to house the DVR (Digital Video Recorder) and battery. The adapted vest is known as the "video vest".
Accessories
Headwear
The camera head has a headband option designed to fit under UK police helmets, so that during a disturbance and the calming down process in an operation, the officers can remove their helmets therefore looking less aggressive but still videoing the situation. An interface has been designed to allow the headset to work on riot helmets, motorcycle helmets, cycle helmets and military helmets.
Battery
The unit is supplied with a Lithium ion based power source which supplies between 4 hours and 8 hours worth of power per battery for a maximum of 500 charge cycles. The off the shelf use of this battery allows a ready supply and an easy charging process.
Hard Drive
The DV Pro uses a 2.5" PC hard drive (currently 30, 40, 60 and 80 GB). This offers between 2 and 46 hours of continuous video on the various hard drives. The hard drive needs to be mounted on a shoe for total manageability. The hard drive is very easy to change. It simply slots in and out of the DVR.
Pole
A pole which extends to approximately two meters long is also available to use with the unit. The pole is fitted with a lockable swivel ball joint and also has a receiving dovetail interface to allow pan and tilt movement. This enables the camera head to reach inaccessible places during searches, etc.
LCD Monitor
A 4" LCD monitor can be supplied to enable video review, either whilst in the field of operation or back at base. The remote monitor is essential if you are using the DV Pro to search in places of potential danger (e.g. a dark loft) or that the eye can not see (e.g. behind cupboards). The LCD monitor can be attached to the video vest.
Download Software
The download software can be supplied with the DV Pro system as an accessory. The software is compatible with Windows based PCs. Once the software is installed you will be able to download, view and burn to CD any video images captured by the DV Pro. This can then be used for evidential purposes.
