Recent terrorist attacks of Britain's airports have demonstrated the growing need and the importance of barriers and various other access control devices. It is the first line of defence to protect a site or building from unauthorised access, terorrist attack or car/truck raids.

Since it is often necessary to control vehicle and pedestrian access to sensitive or secure areas and this can be achieved in a number of different ways including:

 

Electric Gates

Rising Barriers

Rising Traffic Barriers, both with short or long boom arms, are commonly used to control vehicular access to busy areas such as car parks and can operate at speeds in excess of 1.5 seconds. The booms are often fitted with options such as flashing 'operational' lights and 'drop' skirts.

Rising Ramps

A Rising Ramp is a reliable way of blocking access particularly against vehicles with high axial weight. The unit retracts flat into the ground to allow access and rises to prevent entry. Due to the extremely strong construction of these devices they are ideal for high security applications.

For the ultimate in heavy-duty security, the RB800 Series Road Blocker is unsurpassed.

It is designed to restrict heavy-duty commercial vehicles in secure RB340 and RB500 Series road blockers - Westminster International areas and is ideal for protection of financial establishments, Embassies, Lorry & Distribution Parks. It is particularly effective when installed in front of a loading bay.

Radio Frequency (RF) Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) Systems are widely used throughout the world in order to protect all manner of merchandise and to help reduce the incidents of theft.

They are also used in applications for access control, as a form of authentication. Lorries, Vans, Cars and other vehicles are being fitted with RF devices to automatically open entry/exit gates, which can also be used in conjunction with driver/asset management.
