ANCHORING SOLVES THE PROBLEM OF TOUGHENED GLASS AND NICKEL-SULPHIDE.

Although specified as five times stronger than ordinary annealed glass and considered to be safer, toughened glass can break unpredictably, falling dangerously from its frame.

Anchoring provides:

  • A significant reduction in the threat to safety from spontaneous glass fracture
  • A means by which any fractured glass is held securely in place and prevented from falling out of its framed or bolted system
  • Safe containment until such time as replacement glazing, filming and anchoring can be undertaken
  • A vital solution especially for overhead glazed roofing where protection may be vital to public safety

Protection - even within a high-velocity bomb blast attack

THE THREAT OF TERRORIST ATTACK. glass in a bomb blast

. is a very real possibility in any society today. Even if not considered a target, powerful shock waves from this type of attack emanate in all directions, affecting the weakest part of a building structure - the glazing!

  • 90% of all bomb-related injuries are caused by flying shards of glass. Anchoring is therefore essential and indeed a life-saver
  • The FT800 multi-ply glass containment window film and anchoring, designed to absorb shock-waves, will retain the disintegrated glass within the film and frame
  • Proven conclusively to provide a substantial degree of blast resistance and reduce glass fragment hazards at significant blast levels

If your glazing is already filmed, why not upgrade with anchoring?
GULLWING®
