The new Tema Container Port in Ghana, a $1 billion investment project by MPS, officially commenced operations on 28 June 2019

Expanding the port's capacity from 1 million Twenty-foot Equivalent Units ('TEU') pa to over 3.5 million pa, creating a world-class container port operation with some of the largest and most advanced Ship-to-Shore cranes in the world. The port has advanced automated processing systems including the container screening solutions, ensuring that there will be 100% screening of all containers entering or leaving the port.​

Westminster were selected at short notice as the Technical Partner for MPS as part of a 5 year renewable agreement. By deploying a expert team to the port and undertaking the recruitment, training and deployment of the screening personnel and the setup and management up of the screening offices, logistics and operations Westminster was able to quickly and efficiently bring the screening systems up to full capacity and maintain those systems providing Ghanaian Customs with the information they need.​
