It is a common safety barrier (typically used at airports or mass events, where it is necessary to direct a crowd of people) with built-in electronics and a plastic scintillation detector.

Thanks to this, it is possible to covertly monitor passing people and their luggage, and thus detect possible illegal transport of radioactive materials. The measuring barriers can be combined with ordinary ones (without built-in electronics) and create a corridor with the help of delimiting tapes- this is how the ideal geometry for measurement is achieved. Thanks to the use of batteries and wireless data transmission, the corridor can be easily adjusted as needed.
